Most folks ask me this:
Is it easier to tell me what you are certified in or is it easier to tell me the ones you are still missing? π
Well – about that…
Currently, I’m certified as JNCIE-SEC + JNCIE-ENT and hold all A, S and P-Level certifications currently released as ACTIVE. That means I’m “only” missing 2 out of 4 BIG ones: JNCIE-[DC + SP] – that’s it π
I’m also part of the Juniper Champions Program (since it got released) and always leveled up to the highest Tier (Ingenious / Legendary).
In 2018 I became the first ever Juniper Ambassador from Germany and in 2023 I joined the Juniper MistFits π
My next Goal is the JNCIE-DC and after that the JNCIE-SP.

Printed here are 13 Years of total dedication and passion for my Job.
It was a hell of a ride – but boy was it fun.
And I’m just getting started…

You’ll notice, that Networking is not a Job for me – It’s my Hobby and a very important part of my life!
I have chosen multiple Certification-Paths from various Vendors to get a complete understanding of all the Products and to continuously improve myself in order to find the best solutions for my customers π
And now comes the fun part: What’s next? Well, apparently I haven’t suffered enough yet. π In parallel, I secured 2 HPE-Aruba Professional Certifications – but to be honest: They don’t feel like a professional level – they felt like a specialist at best – but maybe that’s just me. The interesting thing about certifications, at least for me, has never really been the certificate itself. It’s the journey that comes with it. You pick a technology, start digging into it, build a lab, break something, figure out why it broke, discover another rabbit hole, spend way too much time in documentation and RFCs, break the lab again… and suddenly you realize that it’s 2 AM and you’re actually having fun. That’s probably the reason I’ve collected so many different certification paths over the years. I don’t want to simply know how to configure a product. I want to understand why it works the way it does, what happens underneath it, where the limitations are and how all those technologies fit together. And that’s also why I deliberately chose different vendors and different technology paths. The more pieces of the puzzle you understand, the easier it becomes to see the bigger picture.
So here’s a little challenge: If you could pick ONE technology or certification right now and spend the next year becoming ridiculously good at it: what would you choose? Networking, Security, Automation, AI, Cloud, something completely different?
Let me know in the comments. After 13 years, I can confidently say that networking stopped being a job a very long time ago. It’s a hobby, a passion, an endless source of things to learn and probably the reason I still get genuinely excited when someone shows me a problem I’ve never seen before. Two JNCIEs down, two to go. Let’s see where this ride takes me next. π
